Well, Number3Son and I can't do it all ourselves. For some reason, this team simply does not play with the intensity and physicality it needs to play on the road. Maybe they're too young. Maybe they're too soft. I don't know what it is. But they just don't have what it takes to win this type of game.
And I don't know what they do at halftime. At Georgia, Alabama, and Ole Miss, they came out for the second half and just immediately collapsed.
Also, I don't know what the heck happened to Miller and Knight. They have been worse than useless in this game.
ReplyDeleteAnd they were never going to be able to mount a comeback against Ole Miss, because Chris Warren can just hold the ball for 30 seconds and score.
ReplyDeleteI should also point out that Tennessee beat Ole Miss 74-57 in Oxford.
ReplyDeleteHere's Miller's line:
ReplyDelete1-4 from the field
0 free throws
0 steals
4 turnovers
The irony is Ole Miss didn't even expect to win this game. They were pretty flat at the beginning of the first half. Once the realized that UK wasn't really giving much of an effort, they jumped all over them.
ReplyDeleteFor the last time, guys, THEY ARE NEVER, EVER, EVER GOING TO CALL THOSE FOULS AT THE BASKET. JUST GIVE UP, ALREADY.
ReplyDeleteAfter this game, UK will be 16-5 overall and 4-3 in the SEC. They have nine games left, and six of those games are against Tennessee, Vandy, and Florida. They also have to go to Arkansas, a game that now looks like a certain loss. Calipari will have to do a great job of coaching to avoid a meltdown of epic proportions.
ReplyDeleteFor the fourth game in a row, by the way, UK has been terrible from 3-point range. Today they are 4-12, while Ole Miss is 7-15. UK is only 8-13 from the line, while Ole Miss is 9-10.

ReplyDeleteTipton never sleeps.
ReplyDeleteJoe B. Hall on Darius Miller's statistics last night: "one more rebound than a dead man."
ReplyDeleteNumber3Son after the game: "That Miller is useless. He shouldn't even be on the team."
ReplyDeleteI love Darius Miller, and I'm rooting for him. Go, UK.
