One of the journalism teachers at WKU had a job for a while as ghostwriter for Adolph Rupp and Blanton Collier when they were both coaching at UK. He'd go sit with them for a half hour or hour and then go away and write first-person columns under the coaches' bylines that, I guess, ran in various Kentucky newspapers after the coaches had a chance to review and revise. Anyway, when I read quotes from Coach Rupp, I can hear this journalism teacher, and it makes me realize how much the teacher was influenced by the coach.
