At 62 Charles Bradley has finally hit the shelves with his first solo album. He's been tooling around music his whole life inspired in his teens by seeing James Brown live. Luckily for Bradley there is a label nowadays called Daptone and Bradley is just the kind of voice they are looking for.
Daptone has made a living over the past decade producing a sound that revives 60's R&B. They have had their biggest success with Sharon Jones. This album by Bradley fits right into what Daptone is all about.
I think this album would be great to play if you are having a 60's themed dinner party. They key would be to put twists on the 60's dishes to give them just a bit of modern flair the way Daptone does with their recordings.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
