Album Review: Gutter Rainbows by Talib Kweli

If you listen to enough albums you come to realize that perhaps the most difficult thing to accomplish as an artist is putting together a solid album from start to finish.  Heck let's face it, it is hard just to have one song that really grabs people and stands out. 

This album does have a few solid moments, like the title track, but it has some really bad moments as well.  It reminds me of a Smithereens album, swinging from a solid tune one minute to something you can't even sit through the next. 

Pull the good moments off and throw them on a workout mix, or play them as you drive to the mall to buy shoes.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
