Do you like 50s beach music. If so then you'll like this album. There has been a lot of 50s pop influence out there lately, but these guys have really gone all in. On the first listen it comes across as just a straight 50s rip off, but as you give it more turns on the old turntable, you start to hear all the modern influences. There are Go-Go's influences, the whole post punk scene from bands like Young Marble Giants, and then takes from modern day indie artists like Neko Case.
It would be a fun album to put on at night at the beach, or when tooling around town on your second date with the girl that use to be your best friend.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
