Album Review: Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk

Tron: Legacy (Amazon MP3 Exclusive Version) [+Digital Booklet]This is a pretty traditional movie soundtrack.  Daft punk is an electronica, dance band but here they have fully embraced their role of creating a soundtrack for a serious remake of the 80s Tron.  They have put aside synthesizers for a real orchestra, but their ability to create textures in sound translates very well.

This is not in any way at the level of what Peter Gabriel did for The Last Temptation of Christ, but it is a solid album and something I don't mind listening to.

This is good for background music while you write code.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. Could you please do a review of the True Grit soundtrack?

  2. This is an outstanding review. "Background music for writing code" is an outstanding suggested application. Plus, I'm glad this reminded me to listen again to Peter Gabriel's (fantastic) Last Temptation of Christ soundtrack and (indirectly) to some Mark Mothersbaugh soundtracks.
