I've heard of Ryan Adams but never listened to him. I've always know of him as a darling of the alt country scene, but this is a pure rock album. In fact it's a pure rock double album.
It was recorded in Nashville back in 2007 while Adams was recording a country album and held for release until now. You would really never imagine that this was being recorded at the same time as a country album as there are almost no hints that Adams is best known as a country guy.
Not quite sure why Adams decided to make this a double album. III is a fantastic 10 track disk of one solid song after another, but by the time you get into the second disk something starts to go missing. The songs are still solid, but it is not of the same caliber.
Still despite my issue with the length of this album it's the best album I've heard so far in 2011. If you like rock then I would suggest giving this a listen, especially the first disk.
I would throw this on just to listen to or for a day doing house painting.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
you forgot to include a video.
