Album Review: Endlessly by Duffy

EndlesslyThe blond Amy Winehouse is how I think of Duffy.  Some people do not like Duffy's voice and if you are one of those people, then I would suggest you stay away from this album, if you like Duffy's voice, then you'll probably like this album.  It is a pretty straightforward effort.

It is pretty much a straight up pop album made up of essentially 10, 3 minute songs all harking back to the girl groups of the 50s and 60s.

As for me, well I'm not all that crazy about her voice or this whole sound that she's going for, so I would stay away from this one.  It's not a bad album, but not something that holds much interest for me.

One other thought. I gave Jazmine Sullivan a hard time in my review for making it all seem too difficult. I would say Duffy has the opposite problem. It almost seems like every song has the same level of emotion and so you're left feeling a bit cold.

I could see playing this while cooking dinner.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
