This album is interesting to me. Ciara was able to go against all the norms here. For one she wrote all of her own songs. Two she was able to work with the same producers for the majority of the album. So in a way I feel like we are getting to hear Ciara and not what the label wants out of Ciara.
That being said what we find out is that Ciara isn't much of a songwriter and brings nothing unique to the table with her voice. It does have the consistency of an album, it's compact in modern R&B terms at just 11 songs, but no matter because there is nothing here to bring in the listener.
I also want to say that I'm disappointed that a female artists who had this freedom still penned songs that were so explicitly sexual and in some instances degrading to her as a woman.
You could pick a few songs here to throw on for the cool down segment of a workout, the album has a slow groove.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
