Here is an update on the other D-1 men's basketball teams in the Commonwealth:
Morehead State is 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the OVC. They opened conference play with an easy 70-49 win over UT-Martin, and then followed with a huge win (75-65) over the defending conference champs from Murray. Morehead then beat St. Catherine 77-64 before getting beat at Northern Iowa, 69-53. The Eagles have a huge game at Austin Peay on Tuesday.
Murray State is 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the OVC, but they have already played EKU and Morehead on the road. The Racers rebounded from the loss to Morehead with wins over Chattanooga and Bethel. They have a huge game coming up on Saturday -- they will be home to Western.
Western Kentucky is 5-5. The Toppers lost four games in a row to Davidson, South Carolina, Vandy, and Memphis, but have since bounced back with wins over Bowling Green (59-52) and Southern Illinois (53-46). (I think the Toppers should play Bowling Green every year.) After Western goes to Murray on Saturday, they will host U of L Wednesday night. After that, Western can start worrying about conference play.
Eastern Kentucky is 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the OVC. The Colonels lost to Murray in a heartbreaker (74-72), but rebounded with a 77-69 win over UT-Martin. They went up to Minnesota last Saturday, where they lost to Tubby's boys 71-58. The Colonels go to Austin Peay this coming Saturday.
Louisville is 8-1. They lost to Drexel on Tuesday night, their first loss in their new gym.
