Pennant Fever

Another big day of action in the Premiership, and Manchester United (who normally drops the hammer down over the holidays) this time dropped two big points when they gave up a tying goal with almost no time left at relegation-threatened Birmingham City. Manchester City thumped Aston Villa 4-0 to gain ground on their hated rivals, while Spurs beat Newcastle 2-0 to move ahead of Chelsea:

1. Man Utd: 10-0-8 (38 pts) (goal difference of 22)
2. Man City: 11-4-5 (38 pts) (goal difference of 16)
3. Arsenal: 11-5-2 (35 pts)
4. Spurs: 9-4-6 (33 pts)
5. Chelsea: 9-5-4 (31 pts)
6. Bolton: 7-4-8 (29 pts)
