The British cram in a lot of soccer over the Christmas holidays. There were a bunch of games on Boxing Day, Arsenal is playing Chelsea in a huge game today, and there is another full slate of games scheduled for tomorrow and this weekend. Historically, these games play a big role in determining who ultimately wins the title -- Man Utd has often used this period to bring the hammer down on the rest of the league, and I expect they will do so again. Here's where things stand heading into the Arsenal-Chelsea game:
1. Man Utd: 10-0-7 (37 pts)
2. Man City: 10-4-5 (35 pts)
3. Arsenal: 10-5-2 (32 pts)
4. Chelsea: 9-4-4 (31 pts)
5. Spurs: 8-4-6 (30 pts)
6. Bolton: 7-4-8 (29 pts)
i wonder if the folks for which boxing day was created appreciate or regret that there's a lot of soccer on boxing day.
