November unemployment was down almost a half point from October in Magoffin County--but still the worst in the state. Unemployment was up almost a half point in Woodford County--but still the best in the state. Owen County falls somewhere in the middle, but Owenton mayor "Milkweed" is hitting the gas on driving job growth.
But the good news is that Mary Garrison, the Tribune-Courier's features editor, has subsequently sent out a Facebook update to this story saying, "An anonymous donor left a $5,000 contribution at last night's display with the stipulation he not be named. Further, First Marine in Calvert City has collected donations for the group. Manager Jason Strait said at 10 a.m. he 'sent a letter' to the company's riverboats, giving an account of the burglary. In just over two hours, 35 employees sent $1,385 in personal, monetary donations. The company matched the amount lost in the incident, as well, bringing the total contribution to $6,385."
