Oh, Kentucky
Don't call it a comeback! Beech Bend has been here for years. "A 1,000 acre playground located on the banks of the Barren River near down-town Bowling Green, has a variety of amusements for the entire family age group," says this C.B.S. Card Services postcard featuring a Steve Caldwell photograph. "Swimming, boating, fishing are offered with a complete amusement park with 'carnival' rides and a free zoo showing a select group of rare animals and birds. Kentucky's most modern trailer and camping facilities offer a recreational program of unusual interest."
Micah Johnson in Kansas City.
Neither Beech Bend nor Micah Johnson made John David Dyche's list.
You can go home again, but you might find the Christmas shopping to be morally challenging.
Speaking of going home again, it appears Turner might well be!

Love the quote from Plutarch in the Middlesboro article.
ReplyDeleteThat Middlesboro letter to the editor is just rich.
