Australia was bowled out for only 304 runs in their second innings, so the Aussies finished with a total of only 549 runs in two innings. By contrast, England scored 620 runs in their only innings, so England won without having to bat again. In cricket, this is called winning by "an innings and 71 runs" and it is a real blowout.
So England now leads the Ashes one match to zero, with one draw. The next match will take place in Perth from December 16 to December 20.
