Ashes update
England is playing much better than I expected. In the second Ashes test match (being played at Adelaide), Australia batted first and scored only 245 runs. England then responded with 620 runs. Even though England was not out, it stopped batting in the hopes that it would have enough time to allow Australia to play a complete second innings -- thus giving England the chance of a win rather than another draw. So far, Australia has scored 238 runs in their second innings for a total of 483 -- leaving them 137 short of England. Australia has made four outs, so they still have six left, and tomorrow is the last day of the match. To avoid a loss, therefore, Australia needs to keep batting until the end of the day tomorrow -- or at least finish their at bat with a large enough lead that England can't overtake them before time runs out.
