Album Review: Love Letter by R. Kelly

Love LetterThe nice thing about being a big enough artists is that you can control your own destiny.  R. Kelly is big enough where he can control his own production and that allowed him here to put together a solid album of pop, r&b love songs.  It's a surprising album as it feels like it should be overly cheesy, but Kelly penned all these songs and he kept the corniness dialed down.

Kelly is a bit of quirky writer and so the songs have a fun feel to them.  Out of 15 songs there are some throw aways and this album would have been much better if trimmed down, but it's an easy set of songs to sit through, well except for "Taxi Cab."

This would be a good album to listen to while sitting around the house reading or playing games.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

My 10 song version of Love Letter.
1. Love Letter
2. Number One Hit
3. Not Feelin' the Love
4. Lost in Your Love
5. Just Can't Get Enough
6. Radio Message
7. When a Woman Loves
8. Love Is
9. Just Like That
10. How Do I Tell Her?
