Album Review: Get Closer by Keith Urban

Like Rascal Flatts since 2000 Keith Urban has had 10 number 1 country hits.  He has put 22 songs inside the top 10 over that same time frame.  Also like Rascall Flatts, Urban is in many ways a country artist who is linked closer to groups like The Eagles than he would be to people like Hank Williams.  This is not classic country music, but more country pop crossover. 

This is a compact album at just 8 tracks, all fairly straight forward country, pop tunes, and they are all solid.  Urban is not exploring new territory here, but just putting out a simple 8 songs that follow his tradition. 

If you like Keith Urban then you'll like this album.  If you want to give modern country, pop a try and see what it's all about I would recommend this album. 

I could see playing this while washing the car or planting tomatoes. 

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
