Since I made the post about monks.org I've been thinking of how I would put together a trip to Central Kentucky. Here's what I've come up with for activities.
Day 1: Visit the Abbey of Gethsemani, Makers Mark, and Bardstown.
Day 2: Hit Springfield for breakfast on your way to the Perryville Battlefield, then visit Danville.
Day 3: Head over to Berea for the day, and finish with dinner in Lexington.
Day 4: Visit Shakertown, then Harrodsburg.
Day 5: Go visit the state capitol on your way to Louisville.
Of course you could easily spend a day in Louisville or Lexington. If it the right time of year in the spring or fall I would recommend going to see the races at Keeneland.
Central Kentucky is terrific. Perryville is on its way to having a really neat little area. Another terrific place in that area is Stanford.
