  1. i'd still have the patriots second, ahead of the falcons. and i'd push the bears ahead of the steelers. but these are negligible quibbles.

i also want to add that i was absolutely thrilled to see the dolphins roll out of oakland with a big victory after a bad week.

  2. I really enjoyed watching the Dolphins and the Raiders. It felt very old school to me.

  3. By the way, I should explain that the NFL poll does not reflect my choice as to how the 10 best teams in the NFL should be ranked. Instead, it represents how AP voters would rank the NFL if they voted using the same principles used in the college poll.

For example, I personally think the Pats are better than the Jets. But the Jets beat the Pats earlier this year, and the AP poll usually tries to avoid ranking teams below teams that they beat.

  5. For some reason I have lost interest in this NFL season.

  6. I almost always lose interest when the NCAA basketball season begins, usually because the Redskins are eliminated by then. I start paying attention again after the bowls, once there are only eight teams left in the playoffs.
