Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary United manager, pretty much never plays for a draw -- even on the road. As I expected, United is starting to slowly put the screws to City -- ramping up the pressure more and more. Of course, the Italians believe that the proper response to such pressure is to score on a counter-attack -- which is what always happens to England in the World Cup, and happened to the U.S. in the last World Cup. But Ferguson has been playing this game a long time, and it's not easy to catch United on the break. And if United ever score, and force City out of its defensive shell, United could tear them apart.
I've seen this same game many, many times since the mid-1990s, and it almost always ends badly for United's opponent.
