Friday Night in western Kentucky

To supplement Eric's excellent coverage:

Class 1A:
Lou. Holy Cross 14 - 59 Mayfield

Class 2A:
Owensboro Catholic 29 - 22 Murray

A very odd and frustrating year for Murray, who really only played one tough game all year -- which they lost. If Murray wants to go deeper into the playoffs, they should seriously consider adding Mayfield and Tilghman to the schedule.

Class 3A:
Russellville 14 - 17 Paducah Tilghman

This is the game I wanted to see, and it was apparently quite a game. Once again, Tilghman and Mayfield carry the ball for the Purchase.

Class 4A:
Allen Co.-Scottsville 35 - 28 Lone Oak

Heath keeps its record as the only team from the McCracken County school district to win a state championship in football or basketball.

Class 5A:
Warren Cent. 26 - 27 Christian Co. (OT)

I'm very impressed with County's two wins over the Warren County crowd.

Class 6A:
Lou. Male 14 - 7 Henderson Co.

Henderson did better than I expected.
