will not be freed.
I have no opinion about the merits of the case; I would not hope to guess who is actually telling the truth about what really happened over in Turkey.
Personally, I do not feel that much disappointment. In my mind, I never really thought of Kanter as part of our team. I'm sure it's bad for UK, I'm sure it will cost us games, but at least we got the ruling before the season started and we can move on. I was very afraid the investigation would drag on until December. And I was even more afraid that Kanter would be declared eligible, and then some more proof would come out against him, and then we'd be in all sorts of trouble.
Also, I would hope that Coach Cal has learned a valuable lesson here: UK is not UNC or Duke -- we don't get breaks from the officials, we don't get help from the NCAA. Anything we get we have to earn; no one is going to give us special treatment.
I have great confidence that Coach Cal and the remaining players will go on and do the best they can, and that Kentucky will win more often than it loses this season. I look forward to seeing how it all turns out.
hear, hear.
