If baseball were still a major sport, tonight's game between the Phillies and Giants would be a huge deal. The Phillies -- two-time champions of the National League -- are fighting to save their season on the road in San Francisco. They are counting on Roy Halladay, perhaps the best pitcher of his generation, who actually threw a no-hitter in the first round of the playoffs. The Giants are countering with Tim Lincecum, their strange, pixieish twirler, who looks like he should be in the cast of Glee. All Lincecum has done is win back-to-back Cy Youngs in 2008 and 2009 -- and outduel Halladay in the first game of the playoffs.
Get your popcorn. This should be great.
