Pennant Fever

The big news this weekend was that Arsenal went to Man City and crushed the Sky Blues 3-0, which means that City is probably not a serious contender for the title -- although City and Spurs will probably battle for the fourth Champions' League spot, just as they did last year. For now, Chelsea are on cruise control:

1. Chelsea 7-1-1 (22 points)
2. Arsenal 5-2-2 (17 points) (goal differential of 11)
3. Man Utd 4-0-5 (17 points) (goal differential of 8)
4. Man City 5-2-2 (17 points) (goal differential of 4)
5. Spurs 4-2-3 (15 points) (goal differential of 3)
6. WBA 4-2-3 (15 points) (goal differential of -2)

Liverpool are still in the relegation zone, at 18th place, but I don't expect that to be the case for much longer.

  2. Yeah! That's my team, too.

A lot of people are down on Man City because they have new owners and are benefiting from a huge influx of foreign money. But I was rooting for them years ago, when they were down in the lower divisions.

Of course, I also like Spurs. I wish both of them could make the Champions' League, but Chelsea/Arsenal/Man Utd are just too strong.
