The big news this weekend was that Arsenal went to Man City and crushed the Sky Blues 3-0, which means that City is probably not a serious contender for the title -- although City and Spurs will probably battle for the fourth Champions' League spot, just as they did last year. For now, Chelsea are on cruise control:
1. Chelsea 7-1-1 (22 points)
2. Arsenal 5-2-2 (17 points) (goal differential of 11)
3. Man Utd 4-0-5 (17 points) (goal differential of 8)
4. Man City 5-2-2 (17 points) (goal differential of 4)
5. Spurs 4-2-3 (15 points) (goal differential of 3)
6. WBA 4-2-3 (15 points) (goal differential of -2)
Liverpool are still in the relegation zone, at 18th place, but I don't expect that to be the case for much longer.
I've decided to pull for Man City.
ReplyDeleteYeah! That's my team, too.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people are down on Man City because they have new owners and are benefiting from a huge influx of foreign money. But I was rooting for them years ago, when they were down in the lower divisions.
Of course, I also like Spurs. I wish both of them could make the Champions' League, but Chelsea/Arsenal/Man Utd are just too strong.
