This was a wild game. For the third game in a row, the Giants had the lead late in the game; they were up 1-0 going into the bottom of the ninth. At that point, Fangraphs reported that the Giants had a better than 75 percent chance of winning. But in the bottom of the eighth, the Braves got a pinch-hit two-run homer to take the lead. Now the Braves had almost a 90 percent chance of winning. But here's what happened in the top of the ninth:
1. Cody Ross popped out to second (1 out)
2. Travis Ishikawa walked (1 out, man on first)
3. Andres Torres struck out (2 out, man on first)
4. Freddy Sanchez singled to center (2 out, men on first and second)
Atlanta changed pitchers, bringing in Mike Dunn
5. Aubrey Huff singled to right (score tied at 2) (2 out, men on first and second)
6. Buster Posey reached on an error by the second baseman (Giants lead 3-2)
And that was your ballgame. Once again, a game was decided by a key late-inning error. On the other hand, this series has been very even so far, and I would not be surprised if the Braves won tomorrow to force a game 5.
