NLCS: San Francisco 5 - 5 Philadelphia (Middle of 9th)

The Giants' closer, Brian Wilson, had 48 saves this year and an ERA of 1.81. He also has a thick black beard. When he comes into the game, as he did in the top of the ninth, the Giants fans hold up signs saying "Fear the Beard."

The Beard did his job in the ninth, blowing away three Phillies batters on only 12 pitches. Now the Giants will get their chance to win the game in the bottom of the ninth against Roy Oswalt -- who is normally a starter but who is now making only the 14th relief appearance of his career. The Phils don't have much choice; they've already used five pitchers in this game and Oswalt is the best pitcher they have left.
