Going into the top of the 8th, the Rays -- who won more games than any other team in the American League -- had scored two runs in 25 innings, and were on the verge of being eliminated. But they exploded for two runs in the eighth to take a 3-2 lead, and they scored three more in the ninth. So the Rays have survived for another day.
