ALCS: Texas 6 - 1 New York (Texas wins 4-2)

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
Not with a bang, but a whimper.

The Yankees went down quickly and quietly tonight. Phil Hughes was chased from the box in the bottom of the fifth and the Rangers were never seriously threatened thereafter.

This whole thing was very, very easy for Texas. The Rangers didn't even need another start from Cliff Lee. The Yankees just couldn't score enough runs to stay competitive.

So, after 49 years of frustration, the Rangers finally have their first pennant. Now they can sit back and wait to see who they will play in the World Series.
