Chalie Hunter is a jazz guitarist who is known, to some degree, as a guy who can sound like a three piece unit while playing his seven string guitar. Well this album is a pretty straight forward display of those talents. It is Hunter and his guitar playing eleven songs, apparently picked out by his 99 year old grandfather. The reason for the name of the album is because these songs are in the public domain, songs like "Ain't We Got Fun", "Danny Boy", etc.
This album is what it is. These are not long songs and he doesn't go all jazzy on them, they are pretty straightforward jazz representations.
I could see having this on in the background while playing board games with the family.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
