Album Review: Nothing by N.E.R.D.

I'm having a hard time making up my mind about this album.  I like the sound of the album.  It's a blend of rock, funk, r&b and hip-hop that works quite well.  In fact my only problem with the album is that the lyrics occasionally drift too far to the vulgar and so undercuts the brilliant sounds.   

But all in all it's a good album, and I've easily listened to it four times and still find it fresh.  Its a fast 10 track album that never slows down or hits a bad musical note. 

I'll probably go back now and listen to their past albums, this is their 4th studio album and I'm curious to see how they started and where they've come.  Now they just need to put together some serious lyrics and move away from the dance culture stuff to produce a really good album.   

You could put this entire album on a run mix.  It would also be good for a day trip to the beach. 

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
