2010 College Football Playoff

I meant to start this last week when the BCS started but didn't get around to it.  Here would be the week one groupings in my 32 team playoff system which would start December 4th and finish up January 1st.  The reason for such a large number is that we would use 31 of the existing bowls to play out the games.

First Round Groups as of October 24th.  In the final four Group A would play Group D.

Group A
1. Texas Christian
2. Oklahoma
3. Ohio State
4. South Carolina
5. Stanford
6. Florida
7. Hawaii
8. Air Force

Group B
1. Auburn
2. Oregon
3. Boise State
4. Florida State
5. Miami (Florida)
6. Virginia Tech
7. Nevada
8. Clemson

Group C
1. Alabama
2. Louisiana State
3. Utah
4. Arizona
5. Oklahoma State
6. Arkansas
7. West Virginia
8. North Carolina State

Group D
1. Missouri
2. Michigan State
3. Wisconsin
4. Nebraska
5. Iowa
6. Mississippi State
7. Texas
8. North Carolina

The bowls would be used as follows.

First Round Bowls:  California, Alamo, Motor City, Humanitarian, Music City, Mobile Alabama, New Orleans, San Francisco, Hawaii, Queen City, Fort Worth, Poinsettia, Texas, Birmingham, New Mexico, Congressional

Second Round Bowls: Liberty, Peach, Fiesta, Independence, Holiday, Hall of Fame, Copper, Tangerine

Third Round Bowls: Sun, Cotton, Gator, Citrus

Semi Final Bowls: Orange, Sugar

  1. You should switch Clemson and Air Force. Auburn has already played Clemson, and TCU has already played Air Force.

  2. Nope there is a method here to the madness. Of course like the BCS I am counting down until the beginning of the playoffs, so one never knows what the matchups will be.

  3. I think that any UCFC belt-holder in a given season should gain an automatic berth to that year's tournament.
