Vuelta a España: Stage 19

This was one of those stages that really catches you off guard. I thought this was going to be another sprint stage, but it finished uphill and so it turned out to be better suited for the classics guys rather than the sprinters. That being said Tyler Farrar showed what great form he has right now by finishing second, but more than that Phillip Gilbert showed his amazing form by pretty much blowing everyone but Farrar away to take the win. Gilbert may be peaking a bit too early, but he will be my pick to win the World Championship.

Apparently I wasn't the only one not anticipating the finish because some of the GC contenders got caught out like 2nd place Ezequeil Mosquera who lost 12 seconds, or Tom Danielson who lost 15 and fell back a spot.  That 12 seconds Mosquera lost could cost him the overall tomorrow this race is so close.  Anyway it will all be decided tomorrow.  It's a mountainous stage finishing up the biggest climb of the race.
