Serbia 92 - 89 Spain (Final)

I was right. This was a great game. But I was wrong about the winner. For the third game in a row, Serbia pulls out a close one, as the Serbs buried a three-pointer with 3.1 seconds left to break an 89-89 tie. As a general matter, I think the 3-point shot at the end of a tie game is really stupid, but the Serbs were 15-30 from 3-point range for the game, so from their perspective, it was a pretty good deal.

This result means that we will have a new World Champion when the tournament is over. It also ends Spain's dream of winning the soccer World Cup and the FIBA World Championship in the same year.

This was the 9th consecutive knockout game won by the higher-seeded team.
