Serbia 82 - 83 Turkey (Final)

This was a tremendous, ding-dong game, as you would expect from these two old rivals. But Serbia's luck finally ran out. Turkey made a layup with 0.5 seconds left on the clock to advance to the finals, where they will take on Kevin Durant and the Kevin Durant All-Stars.

Turkey's victory was a very bad break for the USA. I think we would have had a relatively easy time with an exhausted Serbian team. Now this is going to be more like a UK-Vandy game at Memorial Gym -- just a rabid, rabid crowd full of angry fans wanting to see the Turks knock off the USA -- and some of the worst officiating you could possibly imagine.

I think this will once again come down to how well Durant plays. If he has another 30-point game in him, we can win. If not, we will be in big trouble.

In any event, I am quite pleased with the performance of our team. Anybody can lose a single game played in front of a hostile crowd with bad officiating. But our overall performance (except for the Brazil game) has been very solid.
