The Ken-Bar Inn controversy thickens. Its owner "contends he is being unfairly targeted in this investigation because he is lodging workers for The Shaw Group, who are serving as replacement workers for the striking Honeywell Plant in Metropolis, Ill.," reported Venita Fritz in The Tribune-Courier. "The normally quiet Ken-Bar Inn has been bustling with activity for months since Shaw contracted with owners to house some 250 workers. Dooley believes the complaints to the Sheriff’s Department are a direct result of the replacement workers."
Upon further review, my guess is that women's basketball coach Jeff Walz plans to be at the University of Louisville for some time.
Meanwhile, one of the state's best boys' players has moved into the city.
"I started prowling Paducah’s streets before daybreak, there being more historical plaques per capita than any other place I can remember."
I want to say one word to you. Just one word. Are you listening? Switchgrass.
I thought that Paducah article seemed odd, and then I saw that it was originally published in 1990. But it was still very nice to read.
ReplyDeleteFor what it's worth, I loved growing up with an afternoon paper. I wish afternoon papers still existed.
