Another Disney star turned singer Gomez struck gold with her first album one year ago. If nothing else she's prolific churning out her second album only a year later. It is what you would expect from a Disney star turned pop singer. It's candy pop aimed at young teen girls. To say the least love is in the air on every song.
It's fully synth based, dance beat music. For what it is it's not a bad album. Compared to similar albums it has few embarrassingly bad moments. Personally I think they could have dropped the auto tuner which detracted from the songs, but that's the sound of the moment.
As I said there are a few embarrassingly bad moments like "Rock God." I was embarrassed to have that song playing and I was wearing headphones.
All in all it is what it is. If you have a kid and they want to listen to this album, it won't make you nuts. If you want to stream something goofy and fun while you clean the house then it's perfect. I could even see picking a few songs to throw onto a run mix for the fun.
Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
i read on wikipedia that this woman/girl was named after the late, famous Selena woman.
