Rainy day, cooler evening around much of Kentucky. Good night for high-school football. Sorry this has to be so brief this afternoon, but here are the games I'll be following here this evening:
-- Heath at Jo Byrns (Tenn.)
-- AP Class A No. 1 Mayfield at Calloway County
-- AP 2A No. 1 Newport Catholic at Ryle
-- AP 3A No. 1 Somerset at Danville
-- Withrow (Ohio) at AP 5A No. 1 Fort Thomas Highlands
-- Cincinnati Elder at AP 6A No. 1 Louisville Trinity
-- Glasgow at Allen County-Scottsville
-- Christian County at Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park
-- Graves County at Paducah Tilghman
-- Webster County at Reidland
-- Caldwell County at Union County
-- Louisville Saint Xavier at Cincinnati Saint Xavier
-- Lloyd Memorial at Dayton
-- Fort Campbell at Fort Knox
-- Madisonville-North Hopkins at Henderson County
-- Lone Oak at Lexington Catholic
-- Bowling Green at Warren East
Everything has gone screwylouie here with the end of my week, so I didn't get to pay much attention at all to the games last night. Sorry, sports fans.
ReplyDeleteThe crushing news last night is that Heath lost again, 37-0, to Jo Byrns, a team out of Tennessee. Heath is now 0-3, and the scores have gotten progressively worse: 22-14, 37-12 and now this.
The other crushing news is that Reidland beat Webster County, 10-7. With that win over the team that beat Heath in the season's first week, the struggling-of-recent-seasons Greyhounds have now won two in a row.
The key remaining dates in the race for the penultimate McCracken County championship are Sept. 24, when Heath plays at Reidland, and Oct. 29, when Heath plays at unbeaten Lone Oak. (Lone Oak beat Reidland, 54-21.)
The other results that I was interested in last night: Mayfield 48 at Calloway County 0, Lone Oak 31 at Lexington Catholic 24, Bowling Green 53 at Warren East 14, Henderson County 33 vs. Madisonville-North Hopkins 21, Louisville Trinity 22 vs. Cincinnati Elder 20, Cincinnati Saint Xavier 32 vs. Louisville Saint Xavier 13, Christian County 39 at Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park 32, Lloyd Memorial 36 at Dayton 22, Paducah Tilghman 42 vs. Graves County 6, Ryle 27 vs. Newport Central Catholic 7, Somerset 38 at Danville 13, Highlands 34 vs. Withrow (Ohio) 27, Allen County-Scottsville 56 vs. Glasgow 28, Union County 16 vs. Caldwell County 14 and Fort Campbell 28 at Fort Knox 26.
