As I suspected, Nick Watney is not going to win the PGA Championship. He started with a three-shot lead, immediately double-bogeyed the first hole, and is on his way out of contention. McIlroy is also doing nothing. I now think this tournament will be won by the utterly forgettable Martin Kaymer. He has two things in common with the players who won the U.S. and British Opens: he is not from the United States, and he will never win another major.
What a lousy year for golf.
