Paintsville's leadoff batter, Pitcher Kent Phelps, strikes out swinging to open a Kentucky Little League State Championship game with Owensboro Southern, which is being televised live by the
Wazoo Sports Network from Don Carroll Memorial Field in Hazard.
Owensboro Southern, Kentucky's traditional Little League power, takes a 1-0 lead with a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first.
ReplyDeleteOwensboro Southern records its third home run in the bottom of the first, and the Paintsville coach is on the mound with his arm on the shoulder of dejected hurler Kent Phelps. It's 4-0, and we have a pitching change.
ReplyDeleteMoved to the outfield, Kent Phelps gets under a fly and records Owensboro Southern's second out of the inning.
ReplyDeleteHow did this game come out?
ReplyDeleteOwensboro Southern won. It turns out that this game last night was a semifinal. Campbellsville and Louisville played the second semi, and Owensboro Southern has that winner tonight for the whole enchilada. I'm interested mostly in the Wazoo Sports Network, which began broadcasting Kentucky sports events in 2007 (its first telecast was out of Benton) and appears to be based in London.
ReplyDeleteGo, Owensboro Southern!
